Steelers Remain Perfect, Jackson And Ravens Roll On

The Pittsburgh Steelers came into Sunday’s game in Dallas against the Cowboys with a perfect 7-0 record. They sure didn’t play like an undefeated team for much of the afternoon, but when the dust had settled they had found a way to win yet again to remain unbeaten thus far. They defeated the now 2-7 Cowboys thanks to a strong showing in the fourth, a quarter in which they outscored their hosts 15-0. Ben Roethlisberger led two touchdown drives and a field goal drive in the closing 15 minutes, and that ended up propelling them past the Cowboys by a score of 24-19.

Behind the Steel Curtain

They had trailed 19-9 heading into the fourth, but they were not to be denied on the day. Elsewhere, their division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens were also picking up a win on Sunday. Lamar Jackson improved his record to 25-5 in 30 NFL games, equaling Dan Marino’s previous record for best start by a quarterback, as he orchestrated a 24-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts. They trailed by three at the half, but he came out strong in the second half to complete all ten of his tosses as they scored 17 unanswered to pull away down the stretch. It was their first win from a losing position at half time in 20 games and it marked Jackson’s first win from losing in the locker room as well. In other action, the New Orleans Saints thumped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in prime time while the Miami Dolphins, led by Tua’s two TD passes, were able to narrowly overcome the Arizona Cardinals. The Dolphins are now 5-3 and making a move to make a run toward the playoffs.
