Steelers Win Battle Of Unbeatens, Seahawks Knocked Off

Coming into the seventh week of the NFL’s season on Sunday, there were three teams that remained unbeaten: the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Tennessee Titans, and the Seattle Seahawks. When the dust cleared, however, there remained just one still with the undefeated moniker. That team is the Steelers, who defeated the Titans in a head-to-head match up with a 27-24 score line. It wasn’t a pretty game, but they got the job done despite Ben Roethlisberger throwing three interceptions over the course of the affair. It also required a late field goal miss from Stephen Gostkowski to see them hang on.

The Titans had been down 27-7 early in the third quarter, yet they mounted a valiant comeback to get to 27-24. They just couldn’t tie it when given a good opportunity, and as a result they are now 5-1 while the Steelers improved to 6-0. The same fate the Titans suffered also came to the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football as they fell to division rivals Arizona 37-34 in overtime. Like Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson made a few mistakes, throwing three INT’s as well, and that allowed the Cardinals to eventually kick the winning field goal with just about 15 seconds to go in the extra period. Kyler Murray was fantastic for the Cards, throwing for 360 yards and running for 67 and totaling up four touchdowns in all as his team went to 5-2. The Seahawks are now 5-1 in the NFC West, the unquestioned top division in the league at the moment.
