Tom Brady Reflects On Super Bowl Loss With Recent Instagram Post
The New England Patriots, along with quarterback Tom Brady, have been nearly silent following their 41-33 Super Bowl LII loss just under a week ago.
The only real news that has been produced surrounding the team is a robbery that occurred at tight end Rob Gronkowski’s house in Foxborough while he was at the Super Bowl over the weekend.
Following these few days of silence, Brady has come out in reflection of the Super Bowl and also showed his gratitude for all of the fans that have supported the team since the beginning.
It has taken me a few days to reflect on our SB loss as well as the great season our team had. There are many emotions when you come up short of your goal. And they are all part of learning and growing in this journey of life. Learning turns everything into a postitive. And the number one feeling I have had the past 4 days is gratitude. Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced. Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players in the best position to win. Gratitude to the NEP organization for supporting us on our very challenging and difficult journey. Gratitude to the Philadelphia Eagles team and organization for bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners (as well as congratulations on winning the championship) Gratitude toward our fans who showed up every week to cheer us on and commit their time and energy and love and support to what our goals are. And gratitude to my family and friends who continue to love and support my dreams. Thank you all. I love you all. Best, Tom

Brady said all the right things in this post, both in evaluating his defeat and in thanking the Eagles for “for bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners.”
Many are pointing to this possibly being the end of the Brady era of the NFL, and rightfully so. The tone in this does seem somewhat reminiscent. However, Brady has never said that he is considering retiring in the near future.
“Yeah, you’re going to see me playing football next year,” he said before the Super Bowl. “I don’t envision not playing.”
Regardless, every athlete has to hang it up at some point and that day is growing closer and closer for Brady. While he is still playing at an unbelievable level, he is 40 years old which is very old for an NFL player, let alone a quarterback who has been doing it for as long as Brady has.
When it comes down to it, it’s going to happen. Football fans, regardless of who they root for on Sunday afternoons, just have to enjoy the greatness that is Tom Brady while they will can.
