Trout Hits 300th Homer, Keys Angels’ Win

The Los Angeles Angels have, honestly, never been the team they aspired to be. Even with all-time great Mike Trout on the team, they have just not gotten it together the way they would have liked. With that being said, he sure has been a big player for them over the years, leading them to the little relevancy they have had. He kept up his historic play on Saturday as he helped them to a 10-9 win over the Houston Astros.

In the game, he hit his 300th home run. All of them, of course, have been for the Angels, and that now means he’s the franchises top homer hitter now. He’s officially passed Tim Salmon at just the age of 29, so there is plenty of time for him to do more. He also had two more hits in the a 3-3 game that included two RBIs and four runs scored. He also clinched the record of being the fastest to 300 homers and 200 stolen bases, beating out Willie Mays. Quite the rarefied air to be in, and you get the sense he will be taking down even more records going forward over the years.
