It almost seems like the UEFA Champions League just finished the other day. It’s been about two months, but time sure does fly. Here we are again with the group stage of the 2020-21 edition beginning, and it was headlined by Manchester United’s trip to Paris to take on PSG on Tuesday evening. When the dust had settled, it was an all too familiar feeling for the Parisians as they once again fell to a late goal from Marcus Rashford.
The Englishman had broken their hearts a couple seasons ago with a late goal to knock them out of the tournament, and while he didn’t do that on this occasion, he did pierce them with an 86th minute winner that gives United the edge in the group thus far. The 2-1 win also saw Bruno Fernandes score a penalty before Anthony Martial’s own goal had leveled the playing field. Elsewhere, Lazio saw off Borussia Dortmund 3-1 and Barcelona, with ten men no less, dismantled Hungarian minnows Ferencvaros 5-1.
