Mike Pence attended yesterday’s  Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49ers, but he wasn’t there for long.

He actually left the game before it even started due to players refusing to stand for the national anthem. His reasoning behind it was that he did not want to “dignify” the demonstration.

He released a statement on twitter soon after the game explaining why he decided to leave.

Turns out that President Donald Trump discussed the issue with Pence before the game, asking him to leave if any players kneeled.

Many jumped to the conclusion that this was an effort just to get attention. San Francisco safety Eric Reid, who was on of the players kneeling, said he “definitely” thought this was planned.

“This is PR,” Reid said.

After all, it may have been planned, but we will never know.
