Kirk Cousins can, finally, say that he is a winner on Monday Night Football following his Minnesota Vikings’ win over the Chicago Bears this week. The quarterback had previously gone 0-9 on the marquee stage, but he and his team continued their recent forward momentum in the 19-13 victory. The team looked like a complete disaster just a few weeks ago, sitting at 1-5 through six games. They decided to stick with what they had, promising to do better, and they have done so after a bye week.
They now have three straight wins and are at a much more respectable 4-5 as a result. In this particular game, Cousins had nearly 300 yards passing with two touchdown tosses and an interception while wide receiver Justin Jefferson hauled in eight catches for 143 yards. Adam Thielen caught both touchdown throws from Cousins, with each of them being bookends. The first opened the scoring, while the second put the Vikings ahead for good on the evening. The loss saw Chicago drop down to 5-5, with it being their fourth consecutive loss. Nick Foles’ late injury also won’t help matters too much as they are truly reeling at the moment. Green Bay is at 7-2 in the NFC North, so they likely won’t be caught, but the chances of the Vikings getting into the playoffs and the Bears missing out is much more of a possibility due to the way this one played out.
