It was stay at the airport after a cancelled flight, or get a van with 13 strangers. And that’s exactly what they did.
It happened at the Orlando airport. Along they way they made friends with each other and even a bit of celebrity. “Amy said, ‘Here’s the deal, everybody,’” Michelle Miller, a van passenger, said.

Probably one of the craziest ideas is to rent a van with fellow stranded passengers and all drive to Knoxville overnight. Yet, that’s exactly what 13 complete strangers did.
“I thought it was crazy. I was like a little nervous because I was like, this is weird to just get into a van with a bunch of strangers and everything,” Michaela Puckering, a passenger, said.
It was definitely not comfortable, according to the riders. But it was fun.
Alannah Story brought TikTok nation along for the ride, and this added to the fun. And of course, it was a big hit.
“And then when I refreshed it, it jumped hundreds of views each time and I thought, ‘Oh snap, this is one of those videos that’s going to do it,’” Story said.
“Every single comment was supportive,” Laura Puckering, a passenger, said.
TikTokers got in on the fun but creating their own movie script:
Two passengers were cast as Russian spies. Another was pegged as the first passenger to die if the ride took a turn into a murder mystery. (What an adventure with strangers!)
Story’s mom, Renee, became an overnight sensation.
The movie ended with the “crew” making it to Knoxville and they all became fast friends.
One passenger, Michaela, got to the University of Tennessee in time for her college tour and arrived a celebrity.
“When we went to register, the whole school had seen it,” a passenger said.
Crazy to think that 13 strangers crammed into a van could really become a movie. Is Hollywood next for these people?
Honestly, Hollywood is calling. One passenger says she got a call from a producer for a very famous actor, with serious interest in making this situation into a movie.
The crew reportedly wants “small parts, like an employee who announced your flights have been canceled.” It’s pretty cool how these strangers came together.
