TikTok viewers claim they have spotted a ‘time traveller’ wearing ‘AirPods’ in unearthed footage from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In the TikTok video, created by @yessirbrother, a performer at the Olympics is seen wearing what appears to be white plastic objects in his ears which seemingly resemble Apple AirPods.
Conspiracy theorists have drawn the conclusion that the man in question is a ‘time traveller’ as AirPods only became available in 2016 – eight years after the Beijing Olympic Games.
In the video, the TikTok creator admits that he was “appreciating the Beijing opening ceremony” when he stumbled across the remarkable discovery.

In a voiceover, he explains: “I think I found a real time traveller. Beijing Olympics 2008 – this guy got AirPods though!”
The TikTokker also wrote “CHINA GOTTA EXPLAIN” on the video to express his shock at the discovery.
However, viewers were sceptical about the ‘time traveller’.
One commenter said: “Bluetooth earbuds existed for a long time before Airpods.”
Another viewer said: “Nokia had Bluetooth headphones way back!”

The revelation comes after eagle-eyed football fans spotted another ‘time traveller’ in an image from the 1962 World Cup final.
In the picture, Brazil captain Mauro Ramos is seen triumphantly raising the trophy in Chile after his team beat Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the World Cup final.
But when you look closer at the image, you can spot what seems to be a ‘flip phone’ amongst the gaggle of reporters and photographers that are surrounding Ramos.
The Sun reports that the victorious Brazilian seems to be staring directly at the ‘phone’ in the snap, leaving conspiracy theorists to question the device.
Flip phones were not invented until 1996 when Motorola released StarTAC and upon further inspection of the image, it seemed that the device in question was much more compatible with the decade.

The person in the bottom centre of the photograph is holding a box camera rather than a mobile phone, which was not invented until 34 years after the image was taken.
The photographer is only using one hand, so the handheld camera remarkably seems to resemble a flip phone.
At the time, box cameras were a popular photography tool, made up of a simplistic square device with a lens at one end and film at the other.
Footage from 1938 also backed the theory that ‘time travel is real’, according to commentators.
In the film clip, a group of people were seen walking towards the camera, with one young woman standing out as she’s holding something to the side of her head.

The woman in question was seen chatting as she walks in the crowd of people, with the ‘device’ clamped to the side of her head with one hand. She then seems to lower it before the film clip ends.
This has left conspiracy theorists questioning whether the woman was talking on a mobile phone, or whether she was holding another object to her ear.
