The NFL heads back to Mexico City this week as the 49ers and Cardinals prepare to clash at the famous Estadio Azteca. It’s the fourth time the stadium has hosted an NFL game, and the first time either of these teams has played south of the border.
The 49ers are riding a two-game winning streak, having taken down the Rams and Chargers. Christian McCaffrey has hit the ground running (literally) since being acquired from the Panthers in Week 7. He has racked up four total touchdowns in the last two games, and he’ll be looking for more against a shaky Cardinals defense.

On the other side, the Cardinals picked up a 27-17 win over the Rams last time out despite missing starting quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring). Colt McCoy got the start in Murray’s place but suffered a knee injury in the win. Murray has been ruled out once again tonight, so McCoy will be looking for a second straight win under center.

What time is the NFL game tonight?
- Date: Monday, Nov. 21
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. CT | 6:15 p.m. MT | 5:15 p.m. PT)
The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. local time, 6:15 p.m. in Arizona and 5:15 p.m. on the West Coast).
The venue is Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where the weather forecast is for temperatures in the low 60s Fahrenheit. The stadium sits at an elevation of 7,218 feet above sea level, which is nearly 2,000 feet higher than the Broncos’ famously “mile high” stadium. The air is noticeably thinner at that height, so that could result in some tired players on the field.
What channel is 49ers vs. Cardinals on today?
49ers vs. Cardinals will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. Joe Buck (play-by-play), Troy Aikman (color commentary) and Lisa Salters (sideline reporting) will be on the call.
Cord-cutters can watch the game with a subscription to ESPN+, the network’s streaming service. A live stream will also be available on fuboTV, which offers a free trial. Viewers in Canada can tune in with DAZN, which features every NFL game.
