The NBA will kick off its 2022-23 season with a battle between Eastern Conference contenders.
After a turbulent offseason, the Celtics will begin their quest for championship banner No. 18 on Tuesday night. Boston will be without head coach Ime Udoka, who was suspended for violating organizational guidelines, and big man Robert Williams III, who underwent knee surgery in September. The Celtics still have a terrific core in place, but those absences will be difficult to overcome.
The 76ers, meanwhile, have a clean injury report and will bring one of the most talented rosters in the league to the TD Garden. Joel Embiid and James Harden are the headliners, but Philadelphia also has a strong supporting cast, which includes double-figure scorers like Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris.
Will the Celtics send their fans home happy? Or will the Sixers spoil opening night in Boston?
