Man, this last New Music Friday of the summer was straight up ‘fire,’ no cap! Artists legit went all out, dropping a ton of fresh bangers from A-listers and collabs to highly anticipated albums. If you haven’t updated your playlist yet, for real, you’re missing out. This past week was a whole vibe, and the new tunes are hitting different.
Shakira and Maluma, two absolute legends from Colombia, reunited on ‘Agua,’ their first major joint effort since their 2018 hit ‘Clandestino.’ This time, they went for a merengue track, and dude, they did not miss. The chemistry and sexual energy in the music video are off the charts, with Shakira looking incredible, flaunting her amazing body and those signature dance moves we all know and love. It’s a dope reunion that fans have been waiting for.
Then we got ‘Sexy Magic,’ a sick collaboration featuring CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, and Fred again.. This track is even more special because it’s featured on the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI soundtrack. CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso are seriously on fire right now, scoring a whopping 7 nominations at the Latin GRAMMYS, making them a force to be reckoned with, only behind producer Edgar Barrera.
Piso 21, Micro TDH, and Gangsta dropped ‘Segunda Cita,’ a track that’ll have you feeling flirty and ready for a date night. This is a powerhouse collaboration where all the artists’ sounds blend seamlessly, which is pretty cool. It also includes a sweet moment celebrating Micro TDH’s first collab with Piso 21, ‘Te VI,’ hitting the billions club on Spotify – talk about a legit milestone!
Mexican singer-songwriter Michelle Maciel kicked off a whole new chapter with her album ‘La Gloria.’ This 13-track project is a deep dive into love, personal growth, and some serious experimentation, blending corridos, reggaetón, and boleros.
