After three straight losses, ZUS Coffee returned to its winning ways by sweeping Capital 1, 31-29, 25-15, 25-15 in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Saturday night at Philsports Arena.

Chinnie Arroyo led the way with 15 points off 13 attacks, a block and an ace while the pair of Mich Gamit and Chai Troncoso chipped in 12 points each for the Thunderbelles to rise to a 3-4 standing.

It was all behind the 14 excellent sets of Cloanne Mondoñedo.

“Yung first set ang ganda no. I mean yung execution, tiwala wala pa, yung kumpiyansa kulang pa so we’ll try to work on those and second, third set nag-execute naman tayo then work lang kami. Tuloy-tuloy lang,” coach Jerry Yee said.

The Solar Spikers gassed out after the long opening frame and allowed ZUS Coffee to impose its will especially in the decider where it rushed to a 16-10 lead.

Gamit gave her squad a nine-point lead scoring off a block as the Thunderbelles pinned Capital 1 using a 3-1 run to cap the night.

Jorelle Singh top scored the Solar Spikers with 10 points, all from attacks as Capital1 sank to a third straight loss to a 1-6 card.

ZUS Coffee guns for another victory against Chery Tiggo on Jan. 30 while Capital1 looks for a comeback opposite Akari on Feb. 1, both at the Pasig City venue.
