MANILA, Philippines—With Barangay Ginebra already assured of a spot in the quarterfinals, coach Tim Cone opted to only play several of his key cogs for a limited time as the Gin Kings gear up for the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs.
Stephen Holt made the most out of his time on the floor and helped Ginebra come away with a 91-87 victory over Meralco Wednesday night.

“It’s always the next man up mentality with us, whoever’s on the floor, they’re just five guys connecting for our offense,” said Holt.

“Now, we just have to continue this momentum in the playoffs.”
Holt finished with 13 points and three rebounds in 21 minutes of action while his fellow guard RJ Abarrientos led the team in scoring with 17.

Ending the elimination round in fourth at 8-4, Holt and the Gin Kings look ahead to the quarterfinals where they will face a familiar foe in the Bolts in a best-of-three series.

“I’m just trying to be efficient with my shots and trying to create. For me and all of us, it’s all about preparing for the playoffs and how we go about our business.”
