The latest weapon in the US culture wars is a text alert system that’s designed to warn consumers about products considered to be too “woke.”
The technology comes from the nonprofit group Consumers’ Research—not to be confused with Consumer Reports. On Friday, the organization introduced the so-called “Woke Alert(Opens in a new window)” system to notify users about corporate brands that have allegedly adopted far-left causes that represent a threat to conservative values.
“Sign up for Woke Alerts to be notified when companies cave to the woke mob—so you know the brands attacking your values,” the group says.

The website for Woke Alert already flags several brands, including Bud Light, which recently featured(Opens in a new window) trans activist Dylan Mulvaney in a social media promotion(Opens in a new window). Since then, a growing number of conservative pundits have called for a boycott of Bud Light, saying the famous beer brand has turned to “woke” advertising.
The Consumers’ Research group decided to take the fight to a new level with a text alert system, which requires interested users to submit their mobile phone number. Other brands on the organization’s woke list include Apple for adding a feature in iOS 16.1 designed to reduce a user’s carbon footprint by recharging an iPhone selectively “during times of cleaner energy production.” While users can opt out of the feature, Consumers’ Research claims(Opens in a new window) Apple is unfairly punishing American iPhone users.

“Many corporations are putting progressive activists and their dangerous agendas ahead of customers. They’ll only succeed if we look the other way,” the nonprofit said on its website.
