Aidan Hutchinson’s rendition of ‘Billie Jean’ gets entire Lions team singing on ‘Hard Knocks’

HBO aired its first episode of “Hard Knocks” on Tuesday, and one of the biggest moments came not on the football field, but in the meeting room.

The episode showed Aidan Hutchinson singing a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”, a week after the rookie defensive lineman first made waves on social media for his singing abilities.

Hutchinson’s performance started off slow, but quickly picked up steam as he started throwing some moves into the mix. By the end of the song, Hutchinson had the entire Lions team singing along with him:

Not a bad way to get your rookie season started, even if it’s without pads on. Hutchinson, for what it’s worth, drew rave reviews for his singing voice, most notably from second-year tackle Penei Sewell:

Hutchinson of course isn’t the only rookie to get put through the paces. The Bills last week had each of their rookie offensive linemen singing the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want it That Way.” Other teams have placed their rookies on pad or snack duty.

Then there’s Aaron Donald, whose form of rookie hazing involves putting Elijah Garcia into a strange choking technique. Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

You can follow the Lions throughout their preseason camp on HBO, which airs new episodes of “Hard Knocks” every Tuesday through Sept. 6.
