Amazon customers in the US will soon be able to pay for orders on Amazon.com or the Amazon app using the Venmo payment service, which is owned by Paypal.
The option to pay with Venmo is rolling out(Opens in a new window) to select Amazon customers from today, but should be available to all Amazon users in the US in time for Black Friday. Using a Venmo account simply requires adding it as a payment method to your Amazon account so that it appears as an option during checkout. It’s also possible to set Venmo as the default payment method.
“We want to offer customers payment options that are convenient, easy to use, and secure—and there’s no better time for that than the busy holiday season. Whether it’s paying with cash, buying now and paying later, or now paying via Venmo, our goal is to meet the needs and preferences of every Amazon customer,” said Max Bardon, vice president of Amazon Worldwide Payments.

All transactions are protected by Amazon’s standard security features, but Venmo also monitors each transaction, completes the transaction using encryption, and offers buyers Venmo Purchase Protection(Opens in a new window) alongside Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee(Opens in a new window).
