Gamers generally want a high refresh rate, while remote workers generally need accurate colors and wider displays for productivity. See our roundup of best monitor deals for more.

What Is Prime Day?
Prime Day is a savings bonanza available to members of Amazon’s Prime service. It started in 2015 as a celebration of Amazon’s 20th anniversary, billed as a “one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe.” That first Prime Day wasn’t exactly a huge success. The company’s stock of sale items quickly sold out and wait lists filled up immediately, leaving people with few options. The following year, Amazon seemed to get its act together a little more, and fellow retailers like Walmart stepped in with rival sales.
When Is Amazon’s Second Prime Day 2022?
(Credit: PCMag/Bob Al-Greene)
Amazon’s fall Prime Day is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 11-12 and it will run in 15 countries: Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the UK, and the US. It comes just three months after Amazon’s first 2022 Prime Day, which was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 12-13, 2022.
When Does Prime Day Start?
In recent years, Prime “Day” has become a two-day, 48-hour event. Look for deals to begin at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Oct. 11. And some of the deals, particularly those on devices Amazon makes itself, will probably stick around after the officially conclusion of Prime Day for a day or two, so keep an eye out if you fail to click buy on day one or two.
How Does Amazon Prime Day Work?
This being Prime Day, you’ll need to be a Prime member to get the best bargains. If you’re not, it’s free to join for 30 days(Opens in a new window), after which it’s $139 per year (or $14.99 per month). Once you’re signed up for Prime and signed into your account, the Amazon website and apps will display Prime Day prices, and you can add to your cart and check out like you normally would. (You can always sign up for a monthly account and cancel later, if that’s your thing.)
Will There Be Prime Day Credits?
Credit offers from the first Prime Day
(Credit: Amazon)
In advance of the first Prime Day, Amazon offered shoppers a number of ways to earn credits that they could apply to Prime Day purchases, and it’ll likely do the same in October. In July, it served up credits for watching certain content on Prime Video, trying Amazon Photos, and more, so stay tuned.
How Do I Shop on Prime Day?
You won’t be at a loss for ways to shop on Prime Day, from the main website and Amazon’s apps to the Alexa voice assistant. There will probably be time-limited Lightning deals, as well as savings at Amazon-owned businesses like Whole Foods. Ahead of the fall event, Amazon is also suggesting that shoppers create deals lists with Alexa, which will notify people up to 24 hours before the item goes on sale. You can also set up personalized deal notifications based on search and view history, Amazon says. For more, we have a full rundown on shopping tips for Prime Day, so check that out.
How Do I Maximize Savings During Prime Early Access?
We recommend signing up for the Amazon Prime Credit Card(Opens in a new window) with no annual fees. You will need to be approved and have an eligible Amazon Prime membership. But then you can earn up to 5% back on Amazon.com and Whole Foods purchases, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and select drugstores, and 1% back on most purchases using the Prime Card.
During Prime Day and major shopping events like Black Friday and Prime Day, we saw up to 25% back on select brands and purchases. Amazon product pages usually show the amount you will earn back when you sign on and link your credit card to your account. This is one of our favorite credit cards for travel since there are no foreign transaction fees. Please check the Prime Credit Card page for further details, terms and agreements.
