AMD’s new enterprise-grade graphics cards for power users are almost here. The company today debuted new Radeon Pro desktop GPUs, which are set to arrive later in Q2.
The desktop GPUs, the Radeon Pro W7800 and the W7900, won’t be cheap. They’ll launch for $2,499 and $3,999, respectively. But in return, customers get products designed to complete huge workloads, thanks to copious amounts of video memory.
Specifically, the Radeon Pro W7800 contains 32GB of GDDR6 ECC memory while the W7900 contains even more at 48GB. (In contrast, AMD’s gaming-focused Radeon 7900 XTX, starting at $999, features only 24GB of GDDR6 video memory.)
As a result, the GPUs promise to offer fast speeds for large 3D modeling, AI-based programs and video-editing tasks used in industries such as architecture, design, and entertainment.
The other standout feature is DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity at the max speed of nearly 80Gbps. The products also represent the first time that AMD has brought its cost-saving, scalability improving chiplet process to the Radeon PRO series.

Both GPUs feature the RDNA3 architecture found in AMD’s gaming-focused Radeon 7900 and 7800 cards. A 5-nanometer manufacturing process was used for the graphics computing units while a 6nm process was used to fabricate the memory cache.

To improve the products over 2021’s Radeon Pro W6000 series, AMD doubled the AI-based accelerators on the new GPUs, while bumping up the ray-tracing performance by up to 50%.
The company is marketing the W7800 and W7900 as a better alternative to Nvidia’s rival RTX 6000 Ada GPUs, which also target power users and businesses. According to AMD, the new Radeon Pro series can beat Nvidia’s Ada GPUs in both performance and price, citing its own benchmarks for programs such as Adobe After Effects and Davinci Resolve.
