App Overhaul Makes It Easier to See What’s Included With Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video’s visual interface can be a bit confusing, with seasons categorized in a less-than-intuitive way and prices hidden within sub-menus. But a new update should make it easier to see what’s going on at a glance.

Prime Video is adding a navigation bar that will more prominently display the magnifying glass search icon as well as Home, Movies, TV Shows, Sports, and Live TV options up top.

A big new plus is the ability to sort by subscription, so you don’t have to click through to see if something is included with Prime or not. Any content that costs extra or that isn’t included in your subscriptions will be marked with a bright yellow shopping bag icon.

These non-Prime Video subscriptions—like Max, Crunchyroll, and Paramount+—have long been available as add-ons or Channels. Now, you can find all 100+ of them in a “Subscriptions” section within Prime Video. You’ll also be able to manage those video subscriptions, see deals like streaming bundle discounts, and view your account’s viewing history and Amazon’s recommendations in the Subscriptions section.

Amazon Prime Video will now also offer AI-powered show and movie recommendations and video summaries, so you might see some AI-generated show descriptions popping up soon.

Amazon’s new Prime Video features begin rolling out Tuesday. All users can expect to see the features appear in the coming weeks.
