Are Arsenal for real in 2022/23? The Gunners will seek to continue to answer that question with their first home Premier League match of the season. The Emirates crowd will be rocking as the Gunners aim to start with a perfect record after two matchdays.
Arsenal are not only favorites to beat Leicester at home, but they are also reportedly closing in on signing one of Leicester City’s best players in midfielder Youri Tielemans. The Belgian will still play for the Foxes against the team that is supposedly seeking to secure his services, making for a compelling subplot.
Leicester will need all the help they can get against an Arsenal side that has carried its preseason form into the new campaign, coming away with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace in the opening match of the season. Gabriel Martinelli scored the opener, and they sealed the result on an own goal. Arsenal’s big signing Gabriel Jesus went scoreless on his debut in an official match and will be eager to get on the board in front of his new home fans.
A dose of Bukayo Saka, Jesus, and Martinelli is not the easiest way for the Foxes to get over their disappointing season-opening draw last weekend at home against Brentford, when they coughed up a 2-0 lead by conceding two goals in the span of the final half-hour. It was a bad result for a team expecting to contend for Europe again.

Arsenal vs. Leicester City lineups
The Gunners’ squad is getting healthier with the returns of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe on the bench. Summer signing Fabio Vieira is back in training, but not on the matchday squad list.
Reiss Nelson is the only player confirmed to miss out due to injury. Players who are likely to be on their way to new clubs — right back Hector Bellerin and goalkeeper Alex Runarsson — are out of the squad entirely.
Arsenal starting lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): 1-Aaron Ramsdale (GK) — 4-Ben White, 12-William Saliba, 6-Gabriel, 35-Oleksandr Zinchenko — 5-Thomas Partey, 34-Granit Xhaka — 7-Bukayo Saka, 8-Martin Odegaard, 11-Gabriel Martinelli — 9-Gabriel Jesus
Arsenal subs (9): 30-Matt Turner, 18-Takehiro Tomiyasu, 16-Rob Holding, 3-Kieran Tierney, 25-Mohamed Elneny, 23-Albert Sambi Lokonga, 10-Emile Smith Rowe, 19-Nicolas Pepe, 14-Eddie Nketiah.
Ricardo Pereira (Achilles), Harvey Barnes (knee), and Ryan Bertrand (knee) are still unavailable for the Foxes, but manager Brendan Rodgers has a deep bench at his disposal. He will field Youri Tielemans after all, making for a bit of an awkward situation given the multiple transfer reports.
Leicester City starting lineup (5-3-2, right to left): 1-Danny Ward (GK) — 27-Timothy Castagne, 3-Wesley Fofana, 6-Jonny Evans, 18-Daniel Amartey, 2-James Justin — 8-Youri Tielemans, 25-Wilfred Ndidi, 22-Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall — 10-James Maddison, 9-Jamie Vardy
Leicester City subs (9): 31-Daniel Iversen (GK), 4-Caglar Soyuncu, 33-Luke Thomas, 24-Nampalys Mendy, 11-Marc Albrighton, 26-Dennis Praet, 17-Ayoze Perez, 14-Kelechi Iheanacho, 20-Patson Daka.
