Tiamat Legion Medusa, 60, spent over £60,000 becoming the world’s first ‘genderless dragon’ and even had their penis removed, but now they’ve said they miss their old life as a city banker
A body modification fan who achieved their goal of becoming a ‘ genderless dragon ‘ says they now miss their old life as a city banker. Tiamat Legion Medusa went to extreme lengths to achieve their dream look, covering their body in tattoos, implanting horns into their head, and splitting their tongue in half.
They even had their penis removed and now they have finished their transformation, but, as the Daily Star reports, Tiamat admitted that some people in their life have been put off by their new appearance. Tiamat said that they’d even started to miss their old life, and wanted to go back to being a big-shot city banker.
Tiamat opened up on the In Too Deep podcast in April and shared an insight into their unique lifestyle on the show.
They said: “Having my balls taken out has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my lifetime, I am so glad they’re gone.
“I wish I had got them taken out a long time ago, they should never have been there in the first place. I feel so good having my testicles gone, it’s just incredible… It’s so liberating.”
Tiamat began their radical transformation after being diagnosed as HIV positive while working in a top role at an international bank.
And, despite now embracing life as a ‘genderless dragon’, the body modification fanatic claimed that they look back fondly on their former lifestyle.
“I am an ex-banker, I used to work in white-collar America,” they explained. “I miss those days and I miss that job very much.
“Those years were some of the best years of my life, but I’m totally loving living as a dragon right now.”
This journey of self-discovery has come at a cost, though – as Tiamat has spent over £60,000 on their transformation, and they have been “disowned” by their son due to their lifestyle choice.
Tiamat was born Richard Hernandez, and their love for extreme body modifications started after a dream in the 1980s about a snake bite, which they believe turned them into a “reptoid”.
Speaking previously, Tiamat said: “I found myself surrounded by snakes, of all colours and the snakes were all biting me and I was very much afraid, but as the dream went on and they kept on biting me, I could see that I was not being hurt by them or their bites.
“It was when I realised this that my fear began to subside and I felt safe and at peace and I was not afraid of the snakes, then I woke up.
“I can still recall the dream so vividly as if it happened last night, and it was then that I knew there was an important message for me in my dream – it was an omen that I was one of them, a sign of things to come in my life.
“Today I believe that when those snakes were biting me in my dream that they were in effect injecting me with their venom as a way to give me that venom making me like them, which is why today I am a venom-spitting dragon, as opposed to being a fire-breathing dragon like many people incorrectly assume.”
Tiamat was diagnosed with AIDS in 1997 and decided to change their life completely by “shedding” parts of their humanity.
In their bid to become the person they know they are, Tiamat successfully petitioned the court for their gender marker to be changed to non-binary on their birth certificate.
They continued: “I am removing parts of myself that offend me including some of my physical attributes and also how I live my life today as creature that is part-human and part-reptilian.
“Having been to hell and back, having endured so much cruelty at the hands of humans, making myself into something from another species is my own way of dealing with the spiritual, emotional, psychological pain and anguish that continues to torment me through my life today.
“I believe that I am a real and true life reptoid, a half-human/half-reptilian creature,” Tiamat, who currently works as a performing artist, said.
“I can deal with being part human, just as long as I am also part reptilian because, with my being a transspecies, no longer being ‘just human’ gives me a peace that passes all understanding.”
