Bride bans friends from wearing heels and fake lashes so ‘she looks best’

A maid-of-honour has taken to Reddit to share the six strict rules she had to adhere to for her so-called friend’s winter wedding – which left people outraged

For most brides, having a guest show up to their wedding ceremony in a white gown is one of the worst things that could happen. Not wanting to take any risks, one bride implemented six strict rules for her bridesmaids to follow to make sure they didn’t outshine her on her special day.

Her rules have been slammed by Reddit users, who have branded her a “bridezilla” for putting so many demands on her so-called best friends. The maid-of-honour explained how the bride was so fearful of one of her bridesmaid stealing her spotlight that she banned them all from wearing heels and false eyelashes.

She said: “No one was allowed to wear heels because she didn’t want anyone to be taller than her. She was already at least three inches taller than any girl at her wedding.

“No one was allowed to wear false eyelashes except for her because, you know, the big puffy white dress doesn’t make you stand out enough.

“She wouldn’t let us bridesmaids wear short dresses – knee high, no sleeves, minimal coverage.”

In the run up to the wedding, the bridesmaids were ordered to attend bridal meetings twice a week, with each lasting at least three hours.

To make matters worse, the meetings started six months before the big day.

“Everyone in the bridal party had to recite the rundown schedule to prove we got our s*** together,” she added.

When it came to the big day, the bridesmaids received no thanks for their hard work and dedication – and instead were “screamed at” all day long.

She added: “She screamed at all the bridesmaids behind the scenes on the wedding day while pretending to be the best wife/bride ever in front of her guests.”

The woman later made her bridesmaids stand outside in the snow for pictures – forbidding them from putting on a coat between shots.

The maid-of-honour ended her Reddit post with an abrupt: “I am done with her.”

Her post prompted others to share their run ins with a “bridezilla”, with one user saying: “My mum made me shave my legs for her wedding – so demanding”.

Another user added: “I had a friend lie to a girl getting married and tell her that I booked my wedding the day before theirs and she threw a fit.

“She started bawling her eyes out, I got a call from her fiancé. It was hilarious.”

A third user said: “My step sister flipped out on me because I wanted to wear my diamond stud earrings and she wanted me to buy golden hoops.

“I have very sensitive ears so I can’t just buy cheap earrings unless I want to have burning itching ears, and I have long hair anyway no one could even see my ears.”
