Brighton vs Chelsea time, TV channel, live stream, lineups, and betting odds from Premier League

Brighton have not started life well under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, and the man he replaced will look to make matters worse as the Chelsea visit the Amex in weekend Premier League action.

The hosts have yet to win in five league matches under their new boss who took over after Graham Potter departed to take charge of the Blues, collecting just two points in that span. The schedule hasn’t exactly been kind during that stretch, to be fair, with games against Liverpool, Tottenham, and Man City before Saturday’s visit from fifth-placed Chelsea.

Potter, meanwhile, has enjoyed reverse fortunes at Chelsea, yet to suffer defeat in any competition. They have been held, however, to draws in both their recent league matches against Brighton and Manchester United, and required a Kai Havertz stunner to down RB Salzburg in midweek Champions League action on Tuesday.

The Blues dropped out of the Premier League’s top four after the most recent league draw, with Newcastle pushing Chelsea to fifth on goal differential. They will now hope to retake their fourth spot if the Magpies should slip against Aston Villa.

Brighton vs. Chelsea lineups, team news

There are two forced changes for Brighton. Center-back Joel Veltman came off injured in the last game, leaving Pervis Estupinan to take over (Levi Colwill is unavailable for the match given he is a Chelsea loanee.) Kaoru Mitoma makes his first Premier League start at forward in place of Danny Welbeck, who’s not in the squad.

Brighton starting lineup (3-4-1-2): Sanchez (GK) — Dunk, Webster, Estupinan — Trossard, Mac Allister, Caicedo, March — Gross — Mitoma, Lallana.

Brighton subs (9): Steele (GK), Turns, Furlong, Lamptey, Sarmiento, Gilmour, Moran, Enciso, Undav

Mason Mount, rested for the Champions League match, comes back into a starting role, while Kepa Arrizabalaga continues at goalkeeper, excelling since Potter chose him as the No. 1.

N’Golo Kante is out until after the World Cup with his thigh injury. The center-back options are thin as Wesley Fofana‘s recovery from a knee injury is slower than expected, while Kalidou Koulibaly is a doubt as well for the same reason. Reece James is out of club action through the new year, and his availability for England at the World Cup is a concern.

Chelsea starting lineup (3-5-2): Arrizabalaga (GK) — Chalobah, Silva, Cucurella — Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Gallagher, Sterling — Mount, Havertz.

Chelsea subs (9): Mendy (GK), Chilwell, Azpilicueta, Hutchinson, Zakaria, Jorginho, Ziyech, Aubameyang, Broja

Brighton vs. Chelsea betting odds

Odds via Caesars (USA), Sports Interaction (Canada), & SkyBet (UK).

Brighton are understandably underdogs in the match, but Chelsea’s attacking struggles have seen them move into plus-odds territory as visitors to the Amex.

Bookmakers believe that goals will be scored, as the over 2.5 total is slightly favored and the both teams to score prop has the slightly heavier lean.

Still, there is a belief that this match will be close, considering the odds on Brighton on the half-goal handicap, as the market sees the Blues having to work hard for a result on the road.
