Brits mock ‘saddest’ children’s play park where all kids have for fun is a log

As children, parks were the stuff of our dreams and we were always begging our parents to take us to one. We could spend hours running about, going up and down the slide and kicking our legs on the swing, desperate to get higher and higher.

But it seems not every park is equally as equipped for the maximum fun – as one Reddit post has shown. A user on the Casual UK forum, called Skipper Monkey, shared a snap of what they have branded the “saddest play park”.

However, inside the fence there’s nothing but a giant log.

More than 1,600 people have upvoted the post online, with it garnering over 150 comments from people who couldn’t help but poke fun at the park.

Many shared jokes about how “back in their day” they had nothing to play with and they were just fine.

One person said: “Want to go out and play kids? No. Why? It’s boring… WHAT?!? Back in my day, we would have loved to have a log to play with, all we had were our imaginations!!!!”

Another replied: “You joke but I genuinely had a fallen tree near our house that I used to spend hours playing on as a kid. For years I’d be like ‘just off to play with the log’ and be out for most of the day.”

A third posted: “What could we add to the play area for the children? A few swings? A slide? Roundabout? Seesaw? Log.

“Or how abou… what? Log….a log climbing frame? LOG.”

Someone else joked that it was a “log prison” and others urged not to “feed the log”.

A different user proclaimed: “Looks like a designated dog c**p area.”

While a sixth added: “Are you alright son? You haven’t walked across The Log today.”
