The Broncos and Jaguars treated fans in the UK to yet another close finish in the third and final London game of the 2022 season.
Russell Wilson and Denver emerged as the victors in a 21-17 game, capped off with a 2-yard Latavius Murray touchdown with 1:43 to play. But the biggest drive of the game was in the third quarter, when Wilson led a nine-play, 98-yard scoring drive to give Denver its first lead of the game, 14-10.
The Broncos’ first scoring drive was off an 11-play, 75-yard drive in the second quarter. That followed four drives that included three three-and-outs and an interception.
Denver’s defense was also key to the victory, forcing a goal-line interception by Trevor Lawrence and essentially putting the game on ice with a last-minute pick. Wilson and Co. finished the game with a fourth-down conversion on a quarterback sneak.

Murray and Melvin Gordon III each had a touchdown apiece, combining for 75 yards on 23 carries (3.26 yards per carry). Rookie tight end Greg Dulcich led all Broncos receivers with 87 yards (he had catches of 18, 22 and 38 yards on the Broncos’ 98-yard scoring drive). Jerry Jeudy had six catches for 67 yards and Wilson’s lone touchdown of the day.
Lawrence finished the day completing 18 of 31 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions (one each by K’Waun Williams and Justin Simmons). He also took two sacks for 19 yards and fumbled the ball (which was recovered by Jacksonville).
Travis Etienne led all rushers with 156 yards off 24 carries (6.5 yards per carry) and a score. Tight end Evan Engram led all Jaguars receivers in catches (four), yards (55) and touchdowns (one, for 22 yards).
Today’s attendance of 86,215 is the largest crowd in the history of the NFL International Series in the UK.

12:06 p.m.: Now Etienne gets 11 yards down to the 11-yard line. Jags can get a first down at the 1 without a touchdown.

12:05 p.m.: Jaguars have great field position after a brief return by Kirk, who gets them to the Denver 46.
12:04 p.m.: Wilson has Hamler and Dulcich downfield and somehow splits the two receivers for an incompletion. That brings up fourth-and-10.
11:59 a.m.: Montrell Washington takes the punt but doesn’t call fair catch; he’s immediately brought down at the 7-yard line.
11:58 a.m.: Dre’Mont Jones is credited with a sack on Lawrence for a loss of 6. Broncos decline the holding penalty on Robinson, setting up the punt.
11:58 a.m.: Williams has a nice defense of Marvin Jones on a deep pass, setting up third-and-9.
11:56 a.m.: Lawrence gets the yardage needed and more for a first down on the QB sneak. Jaguars’ drive continues at the Broncos 44-yard line.
11:55 a.m.: Etienne gets 9 yards on second-and-10 to set up third-and-short from the Broncos’ 47.
11:54 a.m.: Lawrence gets it all back with a 17-yard gain to Zay Jones to the Jaguars’ 44.
11:53 a.m.: Etienne’s 18-yard gain to the Broncos’ 45 is negated by a holding penalty. That sets up second-and-12 from the 27.
11:50 a.m.: Lawrence and Co. back at it from their 28-yard line.
11:49 a.m.: Wilson tries to find Gordon underneath but is nearly intercepted by Key on third down. So the teams trade punts.
11:46 a.m.: Broncos take over after the touchback.
11:45 a.m.: Lawrence can’t find a man downfield and takes it himself for a 10-yard gain off the scramble. That’ll set up fourth-and-11.
Third quarter: Broncos 14, Jaguars 10
11:42 a.m.: Broncos sniff out a slip screen, as Josey Jewell hits Etienne for a 6-yard loss to set up third-and-21. The Jaguars will have that to convert at the start of the fourth quarter.
11:41 a.m.: Jags have first-and-15 at their 34-yard line following a false start. Meanwhile, replay seems to show that officials missed a clear facemask on Walker and Co. on the previous sack.
11:39 a.m.: No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker gets to Wilson on third down for a loss 8 back to the Denver 19.

11:37 a.m.: Wilson had Jeudy one-on-one up the left sideline but underthrew him, setting up second-and-10.
11:34 a.m.: Jaguars’ drive stalls after Lawrence fails to hit an open Marvin Jones on the sideline. Looks like Broncos will take over at their 25 following the punt.
11:30 a.m.: Damarri Mathis is called for illegal contact on the Jags’ first play, giving Jacksonville 5 yards and a first down at the 30. Etienne gets an 8-yard carry on the ensuing play to set up second-and-2 at the 38.
11:29 a.m.: Looks like the Jags were called for unnecessary roughness after the touchdown, which was enforced on the kickoff. That’s an easy touchback.
11:25 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN, Broncos. Two runs by Gordon net a 1-yard touchdown for the Broncos and give Denver its first lead of the game, 14-10, with 5:07 left in the third quarter.

11:21 p.m.: Wilson rips another one to Dulcich up the seam for a 22-yard gain to the Denver 46.

11:20 a.m.: Wilson finds Dulcich in the zone for an 18-yard catch-and-run to the 20 to pick up some much-needed space.
11:17 a.m.: Daniel Thomas’ 45-yard punt is downed at the 2-yard line. So it’s not all bad for the Jaguars.
11:15 a.m.: Jaguars get past midfield, but Nik Bonitto forces a strip-sack for a loss of 8 yards on second-and-14. Jacksonville gets some yardage back on third-and-long but that’s a lost drive after a decent start.

10:57 a.m.: Curious way to end the half, it looks like Wilson just throws it away instead of waiting for receivers to get downfield.
10:57 a.m.: Wilson takes aim at KJ Hamler downfield but it’s nearly intercepted by Andre Cisco. That sets up a Hail Mary attempt on fourth down to end the half.
10:56 a.m.: Timeout, Broncos (0:10).
10:56 a.m.: Wilson takes a 7-yard sack by Dawuane Smoot back at the Broncos’ 45.

10:46. a.m.: Jaguars try to catch Denver napping with a delayed handoff to Etienne on second-and-10. He’s stopped for a 1-yard gain to the 38.
10:45 a.m.: Now Kirk gets 4 yards out of bounds to the Denver 39. There’s 1:27 left in the half.
10:44 a.m.: Etienne gets an 8-yard gain to the Denver 43, setting up second-and-short. Jaguars have all three timeouts.
10:41 a.m.: Two-minute warning (2:00).
10:40 a.m.: Lawrence finds Christian Kirk for an 11-yard gain to the 49-yard line between two defenders.
10:40 a.m.: Bradley Chubb is offside, making it second-and-5 for the Jags at the 38. That’s the 10th penalty vs. Denver.
10:38 a.m.: Good gracious, there’s a delay of game on the kickoff. This Denver team can’t get out of its own way. Jaguars take the ensuing kick to their 33-yard line.
10:35 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN, Broncos. Jeudy goes on a jet sweep and takes a short toss from Wilson for a 6-yard touchdown. Nice play design that works with the receiver’s speed. That makes it Jaguars 10, Broncos 7 with 2:44 left in the half.

10:32 a.m.: Wilson gets the yardage necessary on a QB sneak. Fresh set of downs nearing the red zone.
10:31 a.m.: Denver has a choice to make, potentially facing fourth and short at the Jaguars’ 35 1/2-yard line. Looks again like officials spotted him short.
10:29 a.m.: Melvin Gordon gets a 9-yard gain to the Jacksonville 45. Denver offense is getting some nice chunk gains here.
10:26 a.m.: There’s Denver’s first first down of the game. That’s a 13-yard connection on the slant between Wilson and Sutton.

10:19 a.m.: There’s a huge run by Etienne, who gets a nice block by Robinson and makes a man miss to get a 49-yard run to the Denver 24. Huge play there.

10:17 a.m.: Delay of game, Broncos. So that answers any question of whether Denver would go for it on fourth down. Jags take over at their 26 following the punt.
10:16 a.m.: That’s a questionable spot on third-and-1, but it appears the Broncos will punt on fourth-and-short from the 29 1/2-yard line.
10:12 a.m.: Interception, Broncos. Incredible play by Justin Simmons, who catches a hummer of a pass from Lawrence and lands inside the end zone for a touchback. Huge stand by the defense, which looked like it was ready to surrender its second touchdown of the day.

10:09 a.m.: Simmons is called for holding on second-and-goal against Engram. He was holding onto him for dear life, resulting in a 3-yard penalty and a first down.
10:07 a.m.: Etienne takes a 2-yard keeper out of the Wildcat to net a first down to the Denver 17. And now he has a 12-yard gain down to the 5-yard line. Jaguars are knocking for another touchdown.
First quarter: Jaguars 7, Broncos 0
10:03 a.m.: And now Justin Simmons is called for a 15-yard penalty after taunting. That gives the Jags a first down at Denver’s 28-yard line.
10:01 a.m.: Cornerback K’Waun Williams blows the play up in the backfield, but is hit with a 15-yard penalty because he dove into Cam Robinson’s legs to tackle Etienne. That’s a first down for Jacksonville at the Denver 42.
9:58 a.m.: Travis Etienne converts third down with a 5-yard pitch-out left to the Jacksonville 33.
9:53 a.m.: Broncos go three-and-out after holding and false start penalties put the offense way behind the sticks. Jaguars take over at their 19 following the punt.
9:46 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN, JAGUARS. Lawrence shows poise in the pocket and finds Engram in the end zone with safety Kareem Jackson in coverage. Jaguars lead 7-0 with 7:40 left in the first quarter.
