Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall purse, salaries: How much money will they make for 2022 boxing fight?

In 2012, Claressa Shields faced Savannah Marshall at the amateur level and suffered the only loss of her career. Now, as a professional and three-division champion, Shields is looking for a measure of revenge.

Shields and Marshall face off on September 10 for a chance to be called undisputed middleweight champion. The fight will take place inside the O2 Arena in London. Already a former undisputed middleweight champion, Shields recognizes the importance of her name as the A-Side compared to her rival.

“We are not here, about to fight in front of 80,000, because you‘ve won one belt. I’m the champ,” Shields stated during a press conference. “I’m the GWOAT. Nobody knows you. Every time I speak of you, you get bigger. After this, you’re going to have 20,000 more followers because I’m here, not because of anything you’ve done.”

Marshall has ten wins via knockout and is currently on an eight-fight knockout streak. She believes her credentials, skills, and history with Shields are enough to win at home.

“I’m a fan of Claressa Shields. What she’s done for the sport is amazing. She’s a pioneer for the sport, but the reality is, she doesn’t beat me. The first time we fought she didn’t perform and she won’t again on September 10. That’s what it is and it kills her. It burns her inside,” Marshall stated.

“I’ve knocked out people you went 10 rounds with. I’m not just going to beat you. I’m going to hurt you and outbox you. That’s all you need to know. I’m a better fighter. I’ll have all her world titles on September 10.”

The Sporting News looks into how much the two will make for their unification fight and how it may affect their wallets in the long run.
