Cleaning savvy mum Chantel Mila has shared an incredible oven cleaning hack using a product you probably already have in your cupboard – and it will leave it sparkly clean in minutes

It’s almost Christmas, and many Brits are currently doing the pre-festive season deep clean before their family comes round to make everything ten times worse.
One kitchen appliance that gets a run for its money at Christmas time is the oven. But before you stuff your turkey, roast potatoes and parsnips in there, you’ll no doubt want to make sure it’s in as good condition as it can be. Grease and dirt can build up to make a smokey disaster come Christmas Day, if you aren’t careful.
But we’re all about working smarter, not harder, when it comes to cleaning, and one savvy mum has shared a genius hack to get your oven sparkly clean in just five minutes – and you don’t need to buy an expensive cleaning product.

Melbourne-based Chantel Mila, known online through her @mama_mila_ TikTok account, shared the cleaning hack with her one million followers, who were all shocked by the result. Titled ‘Three cleaning hacks you’ll wish you tried earlier’, Chantel instructed others to place a dishwasher tabled on a wet sponge, and then use it to “clean your oven quickly”.
In the video, the Australian mum demonstrated how she had used the hack in her own oven, which was left sparkly clean after just minutes.
Impressed social media users took to the comments to share their thoughts, with one person saying: “Just tried the dishwasher tablet trick and it’s impressive! Way better than the strong smelling oven cleaner.”
Another simply said: “That’s awesome,” and a third added: “You literally save my life every day.”
Chantel also shared a couple of other tips in the video, including how to brighten dull clothes using to denture tablets, which will cost you about £1 at Boots or Amazon. She placed two of them in a bowl of water and a t-shirt that used to be bright white.
Lastly, the content creator showed how to remove rust spots from knives quickly using just baking soda and lemon. Demonstrating on a small knife with brown spots, the mum sprinkled baking soda on the area, and then squeezed a fresh lemon over, causing the mixture to fizz. She was then left with a brand-new looking knife.
Chantel often shares incredible cleaning hacks to make your life easier. Recently, she shared a homemade formula that will banish mould and prevent it from coming back.
Using just white vinegar, clove oil and tea tree oil, she managed to creature a cheap alternative to harsh-cleaning products.
