Last year, college football saw a record 42 FBS bowls. This year, there will be one more.
There will be 84 teams playing in bowl games this year, with two teams getting the chance to play one additional contest in the 2022 national championship game.
Starting Dec. 16, with the Bahamas Bowl and Cure Bowl, there will be bowl games Monday through Saturday each week until Jan. 2, the day of both the Cotton Bowl and Rose Bowl. College football fans will then have to wait nine days until the national championship on Jan. 11.
