A delivery person has left people baffled after choosing to leave a fridge behind two bins piled on top of each other, creating what they’ve described as a ‘safe place’

A customer awaiting the delivery of a new fridge couldn’t help but chuckle after spotting where the delivery person had left it. Of course, large electrical appliances can’t simply be popped through the letterbox or behind a plant pot if the resident is out, and so those delivering them will sometimes have to resort to more creative measures.
The customer in question recently arrived home to find the fridge had been concealed behind two wheelie bins, stacked one on top of the other. The makeshift walled-off area was described as a ‘safe place’ but not everyone is all too sure about that.
Sharing a snap of the ‘hidden’ fridge to Reddit, the surprised yet highly amused customer, who goes by the username u/Games_sans_frontiers, deadpanned: “Your fridge has been delivered to your safe place.”
Conceding that it was unclear exactly where else the delivery person should have put the fridge, the customer mused, “the delivery people did well, to be honest”.
The delivery blunder has left others in stitches, as one fellow Reddit user commented: “This reminds me of the time a delivery man asked me to take in a parcel for my neighbour and it turned out to be a new stove! I spent all day wondering what was in the massive heavy box and only found out when I had to help her carry it to her house that night.”
Although some remarked that they just couldn’t understand why the customer hadn’t made sure to be in to collect it, others recalled similar instances where their items had just randomly turned up on days when they weren’t expecting the delivery.
As one person wrote: “I was out of town for two weeks visiting family and expected a new lounge chair to be delivered well after I returned. Nope, just randomly showed up. Had to race back to London to rescue it from the elements. Thank f*** I wasn’t abroad or doing something I couldn’t abandon.”
