If you’re avoiding using your toilet brush to scrub your loo because it’s a bit gross, but you don’t really have an alternative method to use to get the toilet bowl clean again, then one cleaning guru has the perfect hack for you – and it may mean you can breathe a sigh of relief and get rid of your loo brush completely.

Shakarra aka @trilla5thou took to TikTok to show people a quick and easy way to get their toilets looking spick and span – and you only need a few ingredients, some of which you probably already have under the kitchen sink.

She was asked by another TikTok user for ‘more hacks’, and she delivered by offering a tip using just an ice tray, a small bottle of dish detergent, a cup and a half of baking soda, two tablespoons of vinegar, and a half a cup of water.

Detailing the homemade hack, she said: “Mix it up, put it in these ice trays, and I let it sit overnight.”

Shakarra then explained that you need to put one cube in the top of your toilet tank, close it, then let it sit there and dissolve.

Then, she uses a brownie to demonstrate how clean the toilet can be kept with the mixture, and how the toilet cleans itself after flushing.

Once the toilet has been flushed, the toilet looks sparkling clean and as good as new, and Shakarra explains you don’t need to use your toilet brush. She even says ‘they smell good’.

People were thrilled that they wouldn’t have to use their toilet brushes again, with one commenting: “See this is the type of information I need in my life!! Thank you.”

Shakarra also told a follower that the cubes last a couple of flushes, depending on how long they’ve been in the freezer for.

“I love this, I’m going to do that”, one TikToker praised.

“Doing this because those toilet bowl dissolve things do not work”, someone else wrote.
