Everybody wants their dog to be well-behaved – but it doesn’t always work out that way. One woman has been forced to apologise on behalf of her problematic pooch after he gave his vet a run for their money.

Taking to Reddit, a vet worker explained how she received an adorable apology letter in the post after a particularly tricky check up. It was to addressed to “everyone her pet was rude to” and reads: “Thank you for trying to help me. I am sorry that I am a fighter and not a lover”.

Touched by the effort the owner went to to apologise on behalf of her pet, the veterinary team decided to forgive the pooch for the trouble he caused.

It comes after one veterinary practice started sending out “adorable letters” to pet owners to help ease their anxiety over their pet’s upcoming appointments.

A woman shared the letter she received from her vet on Reddit inviting her dog, named Suki, to pop in for her booster vaccination.

She said: “This is a letter our vet sends out – and it’s absolutely adorable!”

Directed to Suki, the letter reads: “Now don’t panic but the nice vet wants to see you.

“Believe it or not these annual vaccination boosters are very important in maintaining your immunity against serious canine diseases.

“One type can also infect humans (those things that feed and walk you).”

Jokingly warning the dog against hiding the letter from her owner, the vet stressed the importance of keeping up-to-date with vaccinations.

It continues: “This letter is not to be eaten or buried but presented to your owner, who, being a responsible person, will phone the veterinary practice and make the appointment within 14 days to qualify for a 10 per cent discount. Think of all the treats that can buy!

“Oh, and whilst they are rushing you out the door to come and see me, tell them not to forget the vaccination record card please. Looking forward to seeing you.”

While most users said they’ve “never received anything like it”, others praised the vets for their adorable attempt to try to get the dog in for its jab.
