Whether we like to admit it or not, even the most experienced of drivers may not understand every road sign that is on the road. Thankfully, a theory test expert has put motorists’ minds at ease as she explains a common sign, which people have admitted to never fully understanding.
Drivers far and wide will have no doubt seen the common “no return within one hour” road sign, but many are unsure as to what it actually means. Annie – who boasts more than 776,000 followers on account @t heorytestpractice – set the record straight about the lesser-known marking on popular video-streaming service TikTok.
Annie has successfully raked in a large following thanks to her videos that share vital information on how to pass theory tests.
In a recent and popular video, the expert’s clip has surpassed a whopping 644,000 views since posting as she puts the rule to bed.
She explained “I’ve been asked to explain signs like this one.
“This sign is saying that between Monday and Saturday, you can park between 8 o’clock in the morning and 6 o’clock at night, but only for one hour.
“No return within one hour – that simply means that you’re not allowed to drive out of your parking space, drive around the block, and go straight back into that parking space.
“Well, not for an hour anyway,” she added.

In the post’s caption, she clarified the rule, saying: “At other times you can park for as long as you want to.”
Taking to the comments, several budding TikTokers praised Annie for sharing the insightful information as some users even admitted to never knowing the rule.
One user admitted: “I never got the no return within one hour! Thanks for that!”
A second joked: “I always thought no return within 1 hour meant, your not allowed to come back to the car for at least an hour lol.”
Another misunderstood user penned: “I always thought it meant you couldn’t leave for one hour after parking.”
“I’ve always wondered with these,” another admitted.
