Gareth Southgate has 90 minutes left of match action before his team step out for their 2022 World Cup opener against Iran on November 21.
He’ll be hoping for a few more positives against Germany at Wembley after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Italy on Friday that saw him booed off by a section of England fans at full-time.
The Three Lions will be hoping to end a run of five matches without a win, and three without finding the net, but they come up against a talented Germany side who also suffered a shock defeat to Hungary last time out.
Will Southgate play his best XI? Will he hand Ivan Toney his England debut? We’ll soon find out how we’re looking ahead of Qatar.
The Sporting News is following the match live and providing live score updates, commentary.

90 mins from kickoff: Plenty of talk in the build up to tonight’s match has entered around the boos Southgate received and the criticism of recent performances.
Southgate said: “The results haven’t been at the level we want, that we require, so no matter what job you have in football that would be the case.
“Of course with the national team that noise is going to be louder and more widespread – I understand that.
“I’m not hiding from it. We are not enjoying it but we have to keep doing the right things every day to keep improving.”
But with this the last chance for England fans to see their side before they head to Qatar in November, Southgate has urged supporters to give them a good send off.
“We’ve got 90,000 people, the stadium’s sold out,” Southgate said ahead of Monday’s Group A3 encounter. “People want to come and see this team play.
“I would urge the supporters to get behind the team. How they deal with me at the end or whenever, on the phone-ins or whatever else, is completely different.
“But this is their last chance to see the boys before they go to the World Cup and we’re all in it together.
“We can only succeed if we’re all pushing in the same direction and we’ve all got that positive energy towards doing well.
“What happens to me is irrelevant, frankly. It’s about the team. The most important thing is the team and the success of the team.”
120 mins from kickoff: Hello, and welcome to The Sporting News’ live coverage of England vs. Germany. For once, in a meeting between these two rivals, there’s not much at stake following the Three Lions’ relegation. But that won’t stop pride and the final World Cup preparations for both teams being the main focus of tonight’s encounter, which should make for fascinating viewing.

England vs. Germany predicted lineups
You’d expect with it being the final game before England face Iran in their World Cup opener that the starting XI against Germany will be the same one in Qatar. However, with nothing to play for in the Nations League, he could rotate and Ivan Toney is in contention to make his debut.
Ben Chilwell and Marc Guehi also failed to make the squad against Italy and could come into the side. John Stones is back after suspension while Jack Grealish is now serving a ban of his own. Aaron Ramsdale will hope to be back in the starting XI too after Nick Pope played against Italy.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fikayo Tomori, Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse have not been selected for the match day squad.
England predicted lineup (3-4-3): Ramsdale (GK) — Stones, Dier, Maguire — Trippier, Rice, Bellingham, Chilwell — Foden, Kane, Sterling
Leon Goretzka and Manuel Neuer both missed the defeat to Hungary after testing positive for coronavirus.
Antonio Rudiger is out of this one due to suspension meaning one of Thilo Kehrer, Nico Schlotterbeck or Matthias Ginter should fill in at the back. Kai Havertz could be given the chance to lead the line after Timo Werner fired a blank up top last time out.
Germany predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Ter Stegen (GK) — Hofmann, Sule, Schlotterbeck, Raum — Kimmich, Gundogan — Musiala, Muller, Sane — Havertz
