Everton vs. Nottingham Forest: Time, TV channel, live stream, lineups and betting odds for Premier League clash

A desperate Everton welcome newly-promoted Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park as the Toffees continue to search for their first points of the Premier League season.

A pair of one-goal losses to Chelsea and Aston Villa have the club on the ropes already, just a few months after barely avoiding relegation last season.

One of just three clubs yet to pick up a single point through the first two matches of the league season, Everton are dealing with a host of significant injuries that have depleted the squad in key areas. Abdoulaye Doucore is the latest to go down after picking up a hamstring injury a half-hour into the Aston Villa defeat last week.

Forest, meanwhile, picked up their first Premier League victory since 1999 when they downed West Ham last weekend by a 1-0 scoreline.

Everton vs. Nottingham Forest projected lineups & team news

Everton have a number of injury problems to navigate. Most notably, Abdoulaye Doucore is missing in midfield after picking up a hamstring problem in the loss to Aston Villa last weekend. Taking that spot in midfield could be a number of possible replacements, including AllanJean-Philippe Gbamin or new summer signing Amadou Onana.

Additionally, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will also remain sidelined with his knee problem that could see him out until mid-September, while Yerry Mina also remains a miss as his ankle injury could keep him off the field until October.

Andros Townsend will miss some time, likely out until 2023 with an ACL tear. Ben Godfrey is another long-term absentee with a broken leg. Andre Gomes is still on the outside looking in with rumors that he wants out of Goodison Park, and even if no move materializes, he will need a few weeks to gain match fitness before being ready to take the field.

Everton projected starting lineup (3-4-3): Pickford (GK) — Coady, Tarkowski, Holgate — Mykolenko, Allan, Iwobi, Patterson — Gray, Gordon, McNeil.

New Nottingham Forest signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves should be available for the match, but it’s unlikely he would be included in the starting lineup, having just been officially unveiled by the club on the day prior.

Jack Colback will miss the match with an illness, while Omar Richards is out with a leg injury and won’t be back until September.

Manager Steve Cooper could name an unchanged side from the 1-0 win over West Ham last week that saw new signing Taiwo Awoniyi bag his first Premier League goal.

Nottingham Forest projected starting lineup (3-4-1-2): Henderson (GK) — Niakhate, McKenna, Worrall — Toffolo, Mangala, O’Brien, Williams — Lingard — Awoniyi, Johnson.

Odds via DraftKings (USA) & Sports Interaction (Canada), SkyBet (UK)

A host of injuries have befallen the Toffees, leaving their attacking line especially thin. Everton have, however, improved significantly at the back this summer, adding James Tarkowski and Connor Coady in the transfer window, two positive additions to a previously porous defense.

Forest, meanwhile, have also maintained a positive defensive structure, holding opponents goalless in three of their four halves of play thus far, including a full clean sheet kept at home against West Ham. Only the two-goal second half against Newcastle remains a blight on the record.

This match should see goals at a premium as the Goodison faithful hope for their first points of the Premier League season.

Pick: Under 2.5 goals (-134 on DraftKings)
