Fantasy Football Trade Advice: Lamar Jackson, Ezekiel Elliott among top buy-low, sell-high candidates heading into Week 7

Six weeks are in the books, and fantasy football owners should have a good idea of where their teams stand in the overall landscape of their leagues. With the byes in full force (Bills, Rams, Vikings, Eagles this week — ouch) and injuries never ceasing, now’s the time to scour other rosters for trade targets and start offering up some deals. FantasyPros is here to help with tips and trade advice in their Week 7 Stock Watch that includes Alvin Kamara, Darrell Henderson Jr., Travis Etienne Jr., JuJu Smith-Schuster, Lamar Jackson, and Ezekiel Elliott, among others.

This week’s set of byes will certainly thin out depth across fantasy leagues, so don’t let this be the barometer by which you judge your teams’ strengths and weaknesses. It’s important to look several weeks into the future when trying to figure out the types of players you’ll need, and matchups remain a key part of the equation. Ultimately, though, you should always be on the hunt for value. If you think you have an overvalued player or you’ve identified a future breakout, start putting together proposals and see if something sticks.

It’s important to remember that trade values can change quickly, so don’t get too obsessed with a specific player. Adapt to new information, and don’t be shy about pulling the trigger if you have a good offer on the table. It’s always tempting to look for a better deal even when you’ve agreed to something, but as the saying goes, don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. — Matt Lutovsky

Week 7 Fantasy Trade Advice: Buy-low trade candidates

By Andrew Erickson, Fantasy Pros

Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints. Kamara posted 99 rushing yards on 19 carries and 25 on six catches (nine targets), but he failed to score in Week 6. However, he was targeted four times in the red zone. With encouraging usage over the past two weeks, it’s just a matter of time until Kamara pops off a multi-TD game. Buy.

Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jaguars. Etienne (10 carries, 86 yards) and James Robinson (12 carries, 54 yards) split carries, but ETN was more efficient, drew more targets (two vs. one), played more snaps, and ran more routes. As the second-year back continues to see more playing time and look explosive, the breakout game is impending. Buy low now while you still can. He is currently PFF’s fifth-highest-graded rusher this season.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens. Jackson posted his third-straight poor passing game (almost all without Rashod Bateman), but he still had 77 rushing yards. I’d buy low with Bateman (foot) making his potential return against a Browns defense that just got shredded by Bailey Zappe.

Week 7 Fantasy Trade Advice: Sell-high trade candidates

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys. The ground game for Dallas was alive in Week 6. Elliott carried the rock 13 carries for 81 yards and a TD. The yardage is nice, but the lack of receiving (one target) continues to be a major problem. Tony Pollard is a bigger problem, though. He totaled 13 touches (11 carries, two receptions) in Week 6, which was good for an even split with Zeke. Sell high after the successful prime-time showing with Dak Prescott (thumb) about to make his return. That optimism should create trade suitors for Elliott.

Darrell Henderson Jr., RB, Rams. Henderson led the Rams’ backfield with 12 carries for 43 yards and added two catches for nine yards. He scored a touchdown. Malcolm Brown was also somewhat involved, getting seven carries for 15 yards. Henderson didn’t play every snap (71 percent), so his snap share wasn’t as dominant as it was in Week 1 (82). With the Rams likely to trade for an RB because of the Cam Akers situation, I’d sell high on Hendo to someone who thinks he will be the RB1 rest of the season. Even if Henderson remains the starter, he’ll face the 49ers’ and Buccaneers’ top-tier run defenses after L.A.’s Week 7 bye.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Chiefs. Despite seeing just five targets (14-percent target share, 11-percent target rate per route run) in Week 6, JuJu posted 113 receiving yards and a TD on five catches. Sell high. Smith-Schuster has just an 18-percent target share on the season.
