Gabriel Davis injury update, Week 3 fantasy outlook

UPDATE: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Davis is expected to play against Miami.

Davis (ankle) was among the five Bills players officially listed as “questionable” ahead of Sunday’s game. The 23-year-old receiver told reporters Thursday that he’s 100 percent confident he’ll play against the Dolphins, according to beat writer Joe Buscaglia.

Davis shockingly did not play in Week 2 against the Titans after tweaking his ankle in practice on SAturday. Davis was limited in practice throughout the week, which is a good sign for his availability. With the young receiver expressing optimism that he will play, fantasy owners should confidently have Davis in their lineups as a WR2 for Sunday. The Dolphins’ secondary is capable of giving up big passing plays, which we saw last week against the Ravens, which makes Davis one of the better WR2s. If he’s a surprise scratch, the Bills showed last week you can’t count on any specific secondary receiver to pick up the slack, but Isaiah McKenzie likely gets the most extra value.

Keenan Allen injury update, Week 3 fantasy outlook

Allen (hamstring) was officially listed as “questionable” ahead of the Chargers’ Week 3 matchup against the Jaguars.

The veteran wide receiver was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Even though he was listed as DNP on Friday (along with three other key Chargers’ veterans), it appears that Allen will make his return back to the field this weekend. Allen did not play in Week 2 after suffering the hamstring injury in Week 1, and he should be locked in as a WR1 for fantasy, but there’s a question mark surrounding the health of starting quarterback Justin Herbert (ribs). Herbert is currently expected to suit up, but if he’s out, you can obviously bump down Allen’s outlook to WR3 with Chase Daniel under center. If Allen is a surprise scratch, Josh Palmer will have WR3 value. As it stands, he’s currently a boom-or-bust flex.

Julio Jones injury update, Week 3 fantasy outlook

UPDATE: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Jones will be a game-time decision, but Breshad Perriman and Russell Gage are expected to play against Green Bay.

Jones (knee) was among the three Buccaneers wide receivers listed as “questionable” on Friday ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Packers. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles reportedly said that Jones was “a game-time decision,” but it doesn’t appear that he’ll actually play.

The veteran receiver missed the first two days of practice this week but was a limited participant on Friday. Jones did not play in last week’s game against the Saints because of the injury, which led to more snaps for Scotty Miller, Russell Gage, and Breshad Perriman. Perriman (knee) and Gage (hamstring) are also “questionable” for Sunday’s game, but they both seem more likely to suit up than Jones. Without Mike Evans (suspension) and Chris Godwin (hamstring), Tom Brady will be looking to spread the ball around. Miller might lead the team in targets for the second-straight week, but Perriman would have the most value, which we saw last week when he hauled in a second-half touchdown. Gage will have a fairly high floor, especially in PPR leagues.

Jakobi Meyers injury update, Week 3 fantasy outlook

UPDATE: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Meyers is not expected to play against Baltimore, elevating the statuses of Nelson Agholor and DeVante Parker.

Meyers (knee) is officially “questionable” for New England’s matchup against the Ravens on Sunday afternoon.

WEEK 3 DFS: Best values | Best stacks

Earlier in the week, it did not look like Meyers was going to play after he missed the first two days of practice. However, he was able to practice in a limited capacity on Friday, which leaves the possibility that he could suit up. He’s coming off a nine-catch, 13-target, 95-yard game against the Steelers. He’s one of the more reliable pass catchers on the Pats and has plenty of value in PPR leagues, especially in a favorable matchup like this. If Meyers can’t go, look out for Nelson Agholor as WR3 play. He had a huge game against Pittsburgh, recording six receptions (six targets) for 110 yards and a touchdown. DeVante Parker would also get more looks and possibly have flex value.
