Arsenal begin their 2022/23 Europa League journey with a trip to face Group A rivals FC Zurich in their European curtain-raiser this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side missed out on a Champions League spot at the back end of the 2021/22 campaign but will aim to make an impact in Europe’s second-tier competition.
The Gunners’ impressive 100 per cent start to the Premier League season was ended by a 3-1 defeat away at Manchester United last weekend and Arteta will be looking for a reaction from his players.
Hosts Zurich installed new boss Franco Foda at the start of the summer as they push to defend their Super League title in 2023.

10 Mins to KO: Arteta is aiming to change Arsenal’s European record in 2023
Arteta has discussed his ambition to end Arsenal’s long wait for a European trophy since their 1994 Cup Winners Cup in his pre match press conference yesterday.
“That’s a long time and I would like to be the first one to break that negative record”, he said.
“But you have to start somewhere and that’s tomorrow, it’s time to play well, and earn the right to win the match.
“This is a competition we want to take very seriously, against an opponent that is going to make life difficult for us, and we want to start the competition in the right way and maintain our momentum.”
30 Mins to KO: Marquinhos and Turner will be hoping for a positive night in Switzerland
