A furious woman has taken the ultimate revenge on her unfaithful partner by airing their dirty laundry in a full page advert in an Australian newspaper. The woman, only known as Jenny, has dubbed her boyfriend or husband a ‘filthy cheater’ in the damming ad, naming and shaming him for the whole town to see.
The simple yet shocking advertisement is written in the form of a letter, with bold black text and capital letters. It reads: “Dear Steve. I hope you’re happy with her. Now the whole town will know what a filthy cheater you are. From Jenny”. If that wasn’t devastating enough, Jenny adds more fuel to the fire with the ad’s final sign-off: “P.S. I bought this ad using your credit card.”

The Australian tried to pay a hefty sum of up to $2,000 AUD (around £1,200) to ensure Steve faced his alleged infidelity head on. But in this instance, revenge was not only sweet for Jenny, but completely free of charge, as the newspaper revealed that no transaction was made.
According to the Queensland newspaper, “Jenny booked the ad through our newspaper’s online portal and it was published in this Friday’s edition”. After the ad went viral on Facebook, the local paper was inundated with questions about how the woman paid for the spread.
“When payment for the ad was due to be processed it was noticed that the name on the credit card was different to the name on the booking so no payment was taken for the ad,” the newspaper explained.
A whopping 50,000 readers got to enjoy the hilarious take-down when it appeared in the Mackay and Whitsunday Life on Friday 12th August.
The angry advert has since gained international attention after being posted online, meaning the details of Steve’s alleged actions have spread way further than the local community.
In response to the popular advert, the editors said: “We do NOT know who Steve is, but apparently he’s been very very bad.”
Many people have commended Jenny for her dramatic expose, with one Facebook commenter saying: “Not all heroines wear capes. Jenny is my new favourite person.”
Another said: “Jenny sounds like someone I want to be friends with”.
Others weren’t as impressed with Jenny’s mission to reveal her partner’s mistakes, slamming the newspaper for going ahead with the premium placed advert. One said: “Disgusting that you guys even thought about printing this, shows no class at all on your behalf.”
One Aussie pub owner saw the funny side of the dramatic ad, and decided to address Jenny in a public response of their own.

Adelaide’s The Highway Hotel revealed a hilarious response to the saga on their roadside sign. In a show of solidarity with the mysterious woman, the sign reads: “Dear Jenny, I’m sorry. From all the Steves.”
The named and shamed Steve has unsurprisingly failed to come forward about the claims. However, Mike McCann, sales manager for the Mackay & Whitsunday Life, went on the Australian TV show Weekend Today to urge the man to come forward and ‘cover’ Jenny’s bill.
Mr McCann also denied claims that the ad was a ‘PR stunt’, and said staff thought the ad booking was ‘just crazy’ and the response was ‘phenomenal’.
