When you’re going abroad, you want it to go as smoothly as possible so there are things that you must take if you want your journey to be successful. One of the most important things you can take care of though is understandably your passport – without it, you’re not going anywhere. Nobody wants a damaged passport or even one that looks unkempt.

One flight attendant shared her top tips for flying on TikTok and Rosalie Edith aka @rosalieedith has been doing the job for nine years – that’s a lot of traveling she’s done and a lot of handy hacks she’s learned.

Rosalie said that the most crucial items you can pack for your trip is a passport case, or cover. This is because, according to her you need to keep your passport in a case at all times to keep it protected as a damaged passport could prevent you from travelling.

But not just that, she then said you need to put that case in a zip lock bag, or a clear bag.

She explained: “I know it seems like a lot but a damaged passport will literally ruin your holiday.

“The case will protect the pages from getting bent, and the bag will protect it from any accidental spills from a water bottle, the rain, or in my case a really bumpy boat ride.”

The video then shows her on a boat with friends with the seawater coming over the side of the boat.

She then explains that if you’re taking just carry-on luggage, you need a clear bag anyway, but an additional clear bag will help you to easily find what you need.

If you decide to take checked-in luggage, Rosalie recommends taking some of your favourite items in your carry-on, just in case your suitcase goes missing in transit.

She recommends taking spare underwear, a swimming costume, and a favourite outfit with a spare pair of shoes.
