Furious bride gets server fired from ‘dream’ wedding for breaking her strict make-up rule

The bride had requested that her guests come with little makeup and dressed in dark colours, but one of the staff for the big day did not get the memo so the bride got her fired

A bride was left fuming on her big day when she saw a young member of staff wearing ‘too much makeup,’ so she got her fired. The newlywed took to Reddit to explain that she recently got married and for the big day she requested that her guests not wear a lot of makeup or dress up too much- and this included the staff as well.

In the post, the bride wrote: “We planned our dream wedding down to our dream catering company.

“The wedding was beautiful after the pictures we headed to our cocktail hour, and that’s when I saw her.”

What the bride had spotted was a teenage member of staff who apparently had too much eyeliner on, despite the bride’s intentions to have everyone at her wedding slightly dressed down for her big day.

She continued: “She also had diamond studs in her ears a flashy ring, and one of those ugly nose studs.

“The staff’s uniform was a black long-sleeved shirt but on her, it was too low cut and her pants were far too tight.”

According to the bride, this was pretty distracting, to the point where she got the boss out to discipline the member of staff for distracting the bride.

“Their boss apologised and called the server back into the kitchen.”

However, the bride was less than impressed when, within the hour, the young waiter had reappeared on the main floor of the wedding.

She explained: “Not even an hour later the server was back out serving food for dinner. I called the boss over again and asked if the server could work in the back or go home.

“Her boss said they were short-staffed tonight so she would see what can be done.”

After another couple of hours, the bride spotted the young woman again working, but this time behind the bar.

At this point, the bride was raging and demanded the boss get back out there to rectify the situation.

She said: “I called the boss out one last time and told her if the server didn’t leave I would be calling the police. the boss finally relented and told the girl to go home.

“It’s my wedding and I don’t want someone over-shining me and the server should know she’s at work and not dress up so much. I do feel kind of bad because she was pretty young.”

In response, many Redditors were quick to judge and say that the bride should not have acted so brashly to get the teenager fired.

One wrote: “She threatened to call the police! Because a person turned up for and did their job. Could you imagine that conversation!!”

While another said:” She spent her own wedding freaking out that a young server in a uniform may have outshined her. What a waste of energy.”
