‘Ghosts of naughty children’ leave paranormal experts spooked

A former school house is said to be haunted by the ghosts of naughty children that slam doors and giggle in the corridors.

Paranormal experts were spooked by the young ghouls which they claimed date back to the 15th century.

Ghost hunter Tony Ferguson, 37, said the spooky tots reached out to him last weekend during a visit to the haunted farmhouse.

He said: “Everybody with us heard children, very young children in this area around midnight.

“The house is out in a secluded location so they were left shocked and stunned.

“There were a lot of footsteps and banging noises upstairs that happened on command. Then everybody started to hear children.”

Having visited once before in 2018, Tony said he felt as though he had unfinished business.

As he crept around the old building, he told of hearing disembodied footsteps, children playing and slamming doors.

The property, also a wartime cottage, is located at Manor Farm Country Park in Hampshire and dates back to the 1400s.

The veteran ghoul hunter took members of the public along with him to show them just how haunted the building was.

He said: “We were in a locked-off location at midnight and these children sounded really young.

“It was like children were playing in the school area.”

Inside the cottage, Tony found children’s beds with horsehair mattresses, chamber pots, as well as an old schoolroom with blackboard and slates.

According to a Manor Farm worker, visitors during the day have reported seeing things fly around the house and doors being slammed shut.

In a church on the grounds, visitors have reported seeing apparitions or being spoken to by other-worldly beings.

Tony took a trip to the church alone to see what he could find there, deeming it may be too sinister for members of the public.

He said: “I heard a growling sound when I was in the church.

“I looked into one of the tombstones and there was a growl coming from it.

“There were a lot of tombstones with names on them in there. And I started reading their names out and I was getting a lot of unexplained activity.

“I mentioned a reverend and then the noises started getting louder.”

Tony, of Southampton, has been investigating paranormal activity for 13 years and felt compelled to return to Manor Farm.

He said: “During the daytime the farm is an active tourist attraction for families to go and see animals.

“Growing up I had a few paranormal experiences of seeing a gentleman in my grandad’s house as a child.

“As I got a bit older I saw a female apparition at my mum’s house which late in life I was told there was a lady that died in the room I slept in.

“So it has pushed me to search for answers of what I was experiencing growing up.

“I document the journey by going to many of the acclaimed haunted locations around the UK and document any activity or anything unusual or unexplainable.

“I first started out just documenting it for myself but was amazed by some of the amazing things I have experienced.”
