Google is piloting a new feature that promises to serve up the lowest price for US domestic flights, or your money back.
“For some flight prices, Google’s algorithms are confident that the price you find is the lowest available before the flight departs,” the company’s Travel Help page says(Opens in a new window).
Available on select Book on Google itineraries within Google Flights, the new price guarantee program(Opens in a new window) monitors online costs until your first flight departs. If the price drops before wheels up, the company will make up the difference, provided it’s greater than $5.
To take full advantage, sign into a Google Account and look for the colorful price badge when choosing a departing or returning flight within the US. Make sure to select the badged itinerary throughout checkout, and click the “Book on Google” link to accept the terms of service. You’ll receive a confirmation email when the flight is guaranteed.
After you purchase tickets, Google takes over, tracking costs and informing customers via email if the price falls. Users can receive refunds up to $500 total per calendar year for up to three open price-guaranteed bookings at any one time.

The feature applies to one-way or round-trip flights departing from the United States, and covers only the first flight in your booked itinerary. If you change or cancel any part of your trip, you are no longer eligible for money back.
Google, meanwhile, introduced new options to browse and discover hotels on mobile, as well as finding more information about attractions and tour companies directly in Search or Maps.
