Got $6K? Cooler Master Has a Sneaker-Shaped Gaming Desktop for You

No, you can’t wear it. But Cooler Master is preparing to sell a shoe-shaped PC gaming desktop.

The Sneaker X(Opens in a new window) comes from a custom PC building group in Thailand known as JMDF. Over two years ago, JMDF created(Opens in a new window) the Sneaker X for a Cooler Master-sponsored PC building contest, where it immediately stood out. 

Positive feedback prompted Cooler Master to sell it as an actual product. But the Sneaker X won’t be cheap; it’ll set you back $5,999 when it launches in early July. 

“​​The Sneaker X, a stylish desktop PC inspired by iconic sneakers, is perfect for sneaker enthusiasts, collectors, and gamers looking to showcase their style alongside their gaming passion,” Cooler Master said in the announcement(Opens in a new window). 

Indeed, JMDF packed the power supply, graphics card, and a water cooling system into the case’s unique design. The product is also significantly larger than a typical sneaker at over 2 feet in length and height (25.6 by 12.0 by 25.6 inches). 

There’s no word on exact specs, but it will arrive as a prebuilt system. For now, Cooler Master has only said the Sneaker X is designed to feature a smaller, mini-ITX motherboard that can fit inside the unique chassis. The product will also support “the latest generations of Intel and AMD CPUs,” along with a three-slot desktop GPUs.  

For consumers looking for a more traditional desktop PC tower, Cooler Master has also introduced the Cooling X(Opens in a new window) prebuilt desktop PC. It features a fully integrated liquid cooling system into the chassis, along with an AMD Ryzen 9 7590X3D processor and an Nvidia RTX 4080 card. But that version costs even more at $6,999. It’ll arrive in late June.
