Head Back to School With a $150 Motorola G Power Smartphone

Fast and affordable—even more so during Lenovo’s Back to School sale—the Motorola G Power 2022 smartphone is available now for a discounted $149.99.

Take 25% off the $199.99 retail cost(Opens in a new window) of this unlocked handset, which lasts two days between charges and sports a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 1,600-by-720 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.

While the Moto G Power is a bit of a handful at 6.6 by 3 by 0.4 inches (HWD) and 7.2 ounces, its weight is distributed well across a textured matte black plastic chassis, which shows neither fingerprints nor scratches.

Motorola opted for a hole-punch cutout for its 8-megapixel selfie camera instead of a larger notch. On the back you’ll find a 50-megapixel shooter, plus the same 2-megapixel macro and depth lenses as the 2021 G Power model.

A headphone jack sits on the top edge, opposite a USB-C charging port and speaker on the bottom. A combined SIM-and-microSD slot is the sole port on the left, while a volume rocker and textured power button can be found on the right. The back of the phone houses a fingerprint sensor for quick-and-accurate access.

Motorola claims its 5,000mAh battery lasts three days between charges (though only for the most conservative of users); PCMag got an impressive two days of juice before needing to plug in.
