A woman who kicked her husband’s friend and his random date out from their wedding day celebrations, is now living with the cost of her actions, as her new hubby is furious but she can’t see why.

For their happy nuptials, the pair insisted that guests could only bring a plus one if they are married. Anyone outside their strict wedding list parameters was not welcome.

Her husband’s friend defied their wishes, however, proving the best laid plans can often go awry.

The bride, who remains anonymous, took to Reddit to explain the issue, writing: “My husband has one childhood friend that was coming from out of state to attend.

“I’ve met him a bunch of times, but only his girlfriend of three years a few times because of the distance.

“I didn’t want to give him a plus one but my husband begged since he was traveling and didn’t know anyone else at the wedding and he didn’t want him to be uncomfortable. I said fine just to make him happy.”

Events at their wedding reception were about to turn things sour when hubby’s friend’s plus one turned out to be a different woman altogether. This bride was not happy and made her views known to her new husband.

“I asked my husband what was up and he told me that his friend and his girlfriend had broken up a few days before the wedding and since he already RSVPd as two, he brought a friend with him.”

The blushing bride is now red with rage and cannot hold back: “I was pi***d since I made an exception for him and I didn’t want anyone random at my wedding.

“I had one of my bridesmaid’s tell him he could stay but his date should go back to the hotel – this is a private event.” She did not, however, consult with her husband

The pair left, without making a fuss, but it must have been pretty humiliating. Satisfied she had sorted a tricky problem, the bride enjoyed the rest of her reception, oblivious to the impending storm: “I thought everything was fine and had a great night.”

Her husband, however, was not happy. Married only a few weeks, he cannot forget her treatment of his friend. It’s not a great start to married life, but she is adamant she did the right thing.

“He obviously is still upset about it but I don’t think I was wrong. His friend hasn’t been answering his texts. I kind of feel bad but it was my wedding and I didn’t want any strangers there.”

She appealed to a Reddit forum, seeking reassurance she was correct in her actions. Her post has certainly stirred up strong emotions, with over 3.5k people commenting, and many incredulous at her behaviour.

One person wrote: “This comes off as power hungry and controlling. You responded to perceived rudeness with the ultimate rudeness, you kicked someone out which come on, you knew her date was going to follow, so you booted your husbands friend.”

“At this point, the meal was paid for, the invitations had been sent. Shouldn’t the bride be focussing on her partner and having a great evening instead of policing the guests?” another asked.

A third added: “Also she says it’s my wedding and I didn’t want any strangers there. But it’s her husband’s wedding too!”
