House proud or house mad, some people will stop at nothing to achieve the right look. Pulling down walls, repainting, repapering, new kitchen, you name it, we’ve all done it. Well how about painting a PS4? After the efforts of one loving couple it might it become a thing in home-styling.

It could also see legions of gamers heading for the hills. But when it comes to house proud home owners, the aesthetic trumps all, even those pesky game stations. Home owners can spend hours finding their perfect interior design ‘look’, the right colour palette, or creating Pinterest mood boards. But a stylish home, no matter how much dosh you get to spend on it, still has to accommodate TVs, computers, game consoles, and PS4s, and all this tech means lots of wires, and they are difficult to hide.

This was a dilemma facing Brooke Barry who had planned her new-look living room to within an inch of its life. At least she did until her other half thoughtlessly tossed his black PS4 on the side. This did not fit in with her green colour scheme. In despair, she asked him to remove the offending item.

Rather than walk off in a strop and retreat to another gaming room, this lovely man did something quite unexpected.

He dug out the same emerald-green paint Brooke had used in the living room and painted his PS4 to match her ‘aesthetic’.

That is true love right there.

Brooke, from Nashville, posted a video of him updating the console. In the short TikTok video, she said: “Bye I told him his PS4 didn’t match my aesthetic SO HE PAINTED IT.”

She captioned the post: “If he wanted to he would.”

The clip went viral, as TikTokers were overwhelmed by the romantic gesture. One person said: “He loves you so much.”

Another said: “Oh look at my standards just elevating higher out of the universe.”

Others suggested they should paint other appliances too: “Time to paint the tv and stainless steel appliances next.”

While one very sensible response was: “Genuine question- is it ok to paint something that heats up?”

Not everyone was unimpressed, asking, ‘what’s wrong with black?’

One person said: “Black goes with nearly everything.”

Another said: “The original colour goes just fine with ur fireplace.”

A third said: “No way that ‘didn’t fit the aesthetic’ the fireplace is the same exact thing.”

While another said: “I feel like the black is fine tho it goes with the fireplace.”
