Newly-crowned WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly will have an opportunity to prove he is worthy of holding gold on November 12. Janibek faces off against mandatory challenger Denzel Bentley.
The fight takes place inside the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
A 2013 World and Asian Championships gold medalist, Janibek turned pro in 2016. In May, he beat Danny Dignam via knockout to win the interim WBO title. He was on track to fight Demetrius Andrade for the regular title. However, Andrade, who hasn’t fought since November 2021, vacated the belt to move to a new division.
This will be Janibek’s first shot as a premier headliner for Bob Arum’s Top Rank.
“I give Denzel Bentley credit for accepting the challenge when so many fighters ran the other way,” Janibek said in a release. “It is a great honor to defend my world title in Las Vegas at The Palms, and I will once again show the world what ‘Qazaq Style’ is about.”

Bentley made his pro debut in 2017. A two-time British middleweight champion, Bentley initially lost the belt against Felix Cash in 2021. He regained the belt in 2022 against Linus Udofia. Bentley’s last fight was in September, beating Marcus Morrison via TKO. Primarily fighting out of the U.K., this will be his U.S. debut.
“Denzel Bentley is backing himself and completely believes he has got what it takes to win the WBO world middleweight championship from a formidable champion in Janibek Alimkhanuly,” said promoter Frank Warren. “It is a golden opportunity for Denzel to step up from being a respected British champion to starring on the world stage in Las Vegas.”
Also on the card will be the Top Rank debut of WBA minimum champion Seniesa Estrada. “Super Bad” defends her title against Jazmin Gala Villarino.
