Juventus vs. Roma live score

  1H 2H Final
Juventus 1
Roma 0

Goals:

JUV – Dusan Vlahovic – 2nd min.

45 mins: HALF TIME: Juventus 1 (Vlahovic 2′) Roma 0 – Vlahovic’s early freekick is the difference between the two teams at the break, but Juventus have been the dominant team on the balance of play. Mourinho is surely going to make some changes!

43 mins: The officials were checking for a potential penalty kick there, but nothing was given. Roma need the half time break here. They haven’t been able to get going at all in this first half. Miretti has played very well for the hosts!

41 mins: BOOKING – Cristante. The Roma midfielder becomes the latest player to be flashed a yellow card by the referee.

39 mins: This time it’s over! Vlahovic stands over a freekick in a similar position to the one from which he scored just one minute into the match. This time, though, the Juventus number nine sends his strike over the bar.

34 mins: Cuadrado strikes it! Juventus win a contentious freekick on the edge of the box, Cuadrado takes it up despite the dummy run from Vlahovic, but Patricio was right behind it and was able to make the solid save low down. He holds on to the ball.

30 mins: Roma were given a reprieve due to that disallowed second goal, but it’s still Juventus who are dictating things. Roma haven’t been able to impose their own goal in the opening 30 minutes.

26 mins: DISALLOWED! After a long delay, the referee went over to the monitor at the side of the pitch to look at a potential handball by Vlahovic in the build-up. It did brush his arm and the goal is disallowed! It’s only 1-0 to the home team!

25 mins: GOAL! Juventus 2 (25′ Locatelli) Roma 0 – It’s a second goal for Juventus and it’s Locatelli who has found the back of the net! Dybala gives the ball away, the pass is made by Cuadrado into Locatelli who bends the finish around Smalling and past Patricio!

21 mins: Vlahovic hasn’t been involved in the match much since scoring the goal, but that remains the difference between the two teams at this stage.

19 mins: Cristante gave the ball away in his own half, but Roma did a good job of getting back to make sure that Juventus couldn’t make the most of the opportunity.

16 mins: Cuadrado is denied! Space opened up for Juventus in quick transition, the ball was played out to the right where Cuadrado had time to set himself for the shot, but the Colombian’s powerful drive is saved by Patricio!

13 mins: Flicked over! Roma have woken up in the last few minutes. Pellegrini plays a corner kick to the near post, Cristante gets in front of his man, but the Roma player could only glance his header over the top of the Juventus crossbar.

11 mins: Sandrooooo… wide! The ball found Sandro 20 yards out from goal, the Juventus full back wound up the shot, but he dragged it wide of the target. That would have given Patricio a problem had it been on target!

10 mins: There’s some sort of flare up between Smalling and Vlahovic inside the penalty area. The referee talks to both players and calms down the situation. That’s something to keep an eye on, though.

6 mins: BOOKING – Locatelli. The first yellow card of the match is shown to Locatelli for pulling back Dybala.

4 mins: This has been a high-intensity start by Juventus. They have the early lead and they are well on top! Roma are having to weather the storm for the moment.

2 mins: GOAL! Juventus 1 (2′ Vlahovic) Roma 0 – What a start to the match and what an opener by Vlahovic! Juventus won an early freekick 20 yards out from goal and Vlahovic finds the back of the net via the underside of the bar with a stunning left-footed strike!

1 min: The match is under way at the Allianz Stadium! Juventus are in their familiar black and white kits with Roma in their usual red.

5 mins to KO: The two teams have walked out on to the pitch in Turin. The last meeting between these two teams was a classic – Juventus 4-3 at the Stadio Olimpico. Will we get another match like that one today?

10 mins to KO: Not long until kick off at the Allianz Stadium. Both teams have been guilty of being wasteful in front of goal in their Serie A performances this season. Can either Juventus or Roma find their groove in this one? There will be a lot of talent on the pitch!

20 mins: to KO: Allegri has rebuild sections of his squad over the summer. Pogba is unavailable for this match through injury with di Maria also missing for the home team. Bremer has been handed a start, though. He has been signed to be Juve’s next great centre back.

30 mins to KO: Roma have looked organised and compact in the two matches they have played in Serie A this season. They will likely need those qualities to earn a result against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

40 mins to KO: Roma XI – Patricio, Karsdorp, Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola, Pellegrini, Dybala, Abraham.

Dybala starts against his former club. That is a Roma frontline with a lot of potency. Can they make the difference against Juventus?

50 mins to KO: Juventus XI – Szczesny, De Sciglio, Danilo, Bremer, Sandro, Locatelli, Miretti, Rabiot, Cuadrado, Vlahovic, Kostic.

Allegri has handed Kostic a start. There’s also a place for youngster Miretti. Rabiot starts in the centre of midfield. He is fighting for his future as a Juve player.

60 mins to KO: Juventus struggled as they drew 0-0 with Sampdoria last weekend. The Bianconeri need a good result and performance today to prove they can challenge for the Scudetto. Allegri already has some questions to answer in the early stage of this season.

75 mins to KO: Roma have started their season with back-to-back 1-0 wins. They arrive in Turin with genuine hope of claiming a third straight victory in the league.

90 mins to KO: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News’ LIVE coverage of the Serie A fixture between Juventus and Roma. We’ll bring you updates from the Allianz Stadium where two heavyweights of the Italian sport will face each other. This should be a good one!

Juventus vs. Roma lineups

Allegri is still battling against a growing injury list in Turin with summer signing Paul Pogba sidelined with a long-term issue. Angel Di Maria isn’t fit enough for this weekend and Leonardo Bonucci also missing, but Wojciech Szczesny is back.

Mattia De Sciglio returns to the starting lineup, but there is no sign of new signing Arkadiusz Milik despite Allegri suggesting he would throw him straight into the first XI.

Juventus  lineup (4-3-3): Szczesny, De Sciglio, Danilo, Bremer, Sandro, Locatelli, Miretti, Rabiot, Cuadrado, Vlahovic, Kostic.

Mourinho has fewer injuries to contend with this weekend but Georginio Wijnaldum and Nicolo Zaniolo are both out of action for the visitors.

However, the experienced head coach has also reshuffled his options, with Nemanja Matic and Nicola Zalewski coming back into the fold. Paulo Dybala starts against his old club.

Roma lineup (3-4-3): Patricio, Karsdorp, Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola, Pellegrini, Dybala, Abraham.
