Juventus kick off their 2022-23 Serie A season against Sassuolo on August 15 at home. 

Massimiliano Allegri’s side finished fourth in Italy’s top-flight last season and a disappointing 16 points shy of champions AC Milan. 

After years of Serie A dominance, Juventus have now failed to win consecutive league titles and will be desperate to challenge again in 2022-23. 

Sassuolo, meanwhile, finished 11th last season and did claim a memorable 2-1 win over Juve in October 2021.

Juventus vs. Sassuolo team news

After opting to bring back Paul Pogba over the offseason, Juventus will be without the Frenchman for their Serie A opener as he recovers from injury. 

New signing Filip Kostic is at odds to feature after only joining the club on Saturday. 

Allegri will also be without the injured Wojciech Szczesny and Federico Chiesa, while Moise Kean and Adrien Rabiot are both suspended. 

Sassuolo will look to begin life without star striker Gianluca Scamacca, who joined West Ham over the summer, with youngster Andrea Pinamonti looking to fill his shoes. 

Fellow forward Hamed Traore is ruled out with a foot injury, while Maxime Lopez is suspended for the visitors.
